THE HISTORY OF

THE DEMO COLLECTION SONGS

This Album is a collection of most of the Demo recordings made by Mark Williamson during the period of 1984 until 1995. Through out these years Williamson found himself starting off in a Duran style pop band called "Reflection", moving on to a Duo called "Basic Steps" then performing solo as He doe's today.

Before Writing Songs Mark was in a Band Playing Bass and singing such songs as

"IS THAT LOVE" by "SQUEEZE"

Although "Reflection" broke up in 1986,

Mark Williamson and co Song Writer/Lead Guitarist "Grant Orgil" continued on as a Duo under the name of "Basic Steps".

BASIC STEPS

In 1986 "Basic Steps" {Mark Williamson & Grant Orgill} continued to record original self-penned songs,

making a record that resulted in a meeting in London with PWL, and although a record deal was offered,
the person who was to sign this band left PWL and the deal fell through.
The following year Grant left the music business, leaving Mark to form another Duo "STEPS",
with a local top Guitarist called "Michael Welch" who also took over Grants roll as a co song writer.

Below the Duo "STEPS" in 1989 {Mark Williamson & Michael Welch}

Michael Welch had taught Bass guitar to Mark Williamson in the past and it was Michael who introduced

another pupil of His "Grant Orgill", to Mark years before.
Although only the last two songs on this album are credited with this Duo,
Michael Welch not only co wrote many of Mark Williamson's solo recordings
He also produced and played guitar, even on some tracks playing all the instruments too.
